With effect from 1st April,2011 Gujarat government has revised Jantri rates across the state. I think it will affect people of Gujarat in following ways. In some cases it results in advantage and in others as disadvantage:

01. Prime facie, Increase in stamp duty which increase revenue of state government but increase cost of property to the buyers.

02. Persons who already posses property have to sell the same as per revise Jantri which result in higher Long term/short term capital gain which increase revenue of central goverment.

03. By revising Jantri state goverment try to bring more transperancy in real estate transactions.
